CBD Oil - Can it help you?

CBD (Cannabidiol) Oil......Have you heard of it? Well let me educate you and tell you what I know.

Cannabis basically has 2 species...

1) Marijuana - This is a psychoactive drug from the Cannabis plant used for recreational and medical purposes. Marijuana contains more than 120 compounds (Cannabinoids) which have been shown to help with some health issues. The main psychoactive part of Marijuana is "Tetrahydrocannabinol" or THC for short. This is the Cannabinoid which creates the "High" people experience when using the drug.

2) HEMP - This species of Cannabis contains less than 0.3% of THC which means it has all the beneficial properties of Cannabis but without the "High" that the THC creates. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound which comes from Hemp.

CBD oil is created by a process called extraction. The whole mature Hemp plant is used - including the stalk and flowers.

Basically Hemp derived CBD oil is legal and Marijuana derived CBD oil is not!

So what does it do?

The Endocannabinoid system in our body is made of receptors and we naturally produce cannabinoids inside our bodies to stimulate and nourish this system. This system is responsible for helping all our major systems to communicate via these receptors and maintain general balance or homeostasis. But if the endocannabinoid system is deficient it can lead to ill health or even serious health conditions.

By taking CBD oil you can supplement the body with phytocannibinoids (cannabinoids made from a plant) to help the body to function at its optimal efficiency!

Now most people these days prefer the more natural approach to health and how more natural can you get - using plants to supplement your health and restore balance!

So why am I talking about this.....!

Since finding out about this product it has sparked a real interest with me and I have been doing my own research. I have decided to start taking CBD oil myself.

I was diagnosed with crohns disease 3 years ago which causes may different issues linked to both my physical and mental health. Crohns disease causes inflammation of the digestive system (right from the top to the bottom!) but many of the common systems also including fatigue, mind fog, poor concentration and anaemia.

I also run my own private practice, work for the NHS, run a household, married and we are also building a new house so as you can imagine we have a fair bit of stress to deal with in our lives at the moment.

I am a big believer in "do what you can to be kind to your body to maintain good health".

The Journey starts here..... :)
