Working as a physiotherapist I recommend Pilates and Yoga as a form of exercises to benefit patients on a daily basis. However, I found when mentioning it men I always seemed to have to defend the practice or persuade them to try it. It became apparent a lot of men felt it was a "girls" sport and they explained they would feel out of place if they went to a class.
So seeing a gap in the market I approached a local Yoga instructor and asked her how she felt about running a men only yoga class. Jennifer was please to help and what a success it was!
I finally had a place to recommend to the men i was treating and also got a local football team involved, they loved the challenge and even admitted how amazing the felt after each session and how it helped improve their football skills and flexibility.
